Oh Italy, I love you.
Now, this wedding will always have a very special place in my heart for so many reasons. Just putting this blog post together has made me feel all nostalgic and left me aching to go back - and desperate for some sun! This was only my second destination wedding; getting to Hotel Garden Riviera where we were all staying was like a sketch from Planes, Trains and Automobiles (I really did use all three) and from the moment I arrived until the moment I left I was just completely in my element, surrounded by so much love and happiness and really really not wanting it to end.
Rosie and Chris were married in the beautiful town of Santa Maria di Castellabate in Italy, such a beautiful part of the country and a relatively hidden gem. Their wedding was perfectly and lovingly planned and put together by the amazing Julie and Emillie of My Secret Italy ; Julie refers to Santa Maria as Twinkle Town and after visiting it's not hard to see why - it's just stunning! The perfect place to say "I do".
Rosie looked absolutely beautiful in her show stopping Charlotte Balbier dress - I know for a fact that she felt (and certainly looked) like a princess - completed perfectly with a floor length veil. Chris was effortlessly cool in his Asos suit, swapping a traditional suit jacket for a waistcoat which was absolutely needed because of the heat! Getting married in Italy in the hight of the summer is not to be taken lightly...you definitely will need fans and plenty of water! The man of the moment though was, of course, Chris's son Junior. He is one of my absolute favourite little humans with the most incredible personality and you can see from the images just how much he loves them both and had such a great time.
After the traditional catholic church ceremony, we walked through the tiny back streets of Castellabate to a small courtyard to enjoy drinks and canapés. I took them both off for some alone time (and photos of course) and then we all set off to start the evening at the picture perfect setting of Restaurant Belvedere.
After speeches, a beautiful first dance and an impressive display of fireworks, we were all entertained by the wonderful Maieutike Band - I didn't leave until half past two the next morning with the last of the guests and even then I almost had to be dragged away. What a wedding!
Rosie and Chris...thank you so so much for choosing me to capture your absolutely perfect day, I hope you enjoy looking back on all of these gorgeous moments!
Lots of love xx
