Soughton Hall has been a favourite venue of mine to work at for years now. I first shot a wedding here in 2018, where I completely fell in love with the incredible building and beautiful gardens.
I’ve been lucky enough to continue to work here each year since, being a part of some amazing weddings with wonderful couples in one of my absolute favourite places.
A truly magical experience; whether planning an outdoor ceremony in the secret garden or dreaming of getting married in the beautiful drawing room, Soughton Hall has the perfect mixture of elegance and natural charm.
Why do I love Soughton Hall so much?
Honestly, the whole experience!
They have the most amazing staff, who do everything they can to make your day run seamlessly and who are just flipping lovely to be around. You don’t feel rushed or like your wedding day is too structured or regimented. If we need a little more time for photos? That’s fine! Your drinks will never be empty, your guests will have the time of their lives and you will feel like you own the building for the day. A dream!
As a Soughton Hall wedding photographer, I know all of the best places for your couples portraits. Shot in a relaxed way, my style is very much to go for a walk with you both around the beautiful grounds while you steal a moment together, producing some beautiful images with the background of Soughton Hall. If the weather and light allows, I’ll probably steal you again after your meal to explore another of the areas that Soughton Hall has to offer. A walk up and down the long driveway while you soak up the excitement of your day together is always pretty special! Inside Soughton Hall is magical too. The beautiful library room is a lovely space for calm after your ceremony and you’ll find that your guests love sitting in there chatting away throughout the day!
Confetti! Now, a confetti shot will always my favourite in your gallery of Soughton Hall wedding photos - I think the building just adds a some WOW to the shot being in the background. You can only throw your confetti outside of the main gate, but that’s a great spot to gather all of your guests and perfect for your family group shots too. What kind of confetti is best for a wedding? Colourful! Either biodegradable paper circles or real petal confetti. And lots of it. If you think you have enough, buy a little bit more! Trust me.
